Tom's blogs are back!
Friends,
Thank you for you patience. Since the upgrade of my website I’ve been treading water regarding what to do about delivering my blog posts to subscribers. The options are complex, but for now I’ve settled on this “newsletter” format from Substack.
My overarching goal is to get my words in front of as many people as possible. To this end, I’m a bit of a literary anarchist. I’ve been posting my recent writing directly to Facebook, rather than figuring out how to link subscribers to my blog. This has had the advantage of providing an instantaneous word blast to potential readers. But many of my blog subscribers do not use Facebook (for very good reasons). And for those who do engage in social media, the availability of my posts has been dependent on the murky workings of the Facebook “algorithm”.
You are receiving this email because I’d rather know that subscribers are getting posts delivered to their mailboxes. You’ll be able to read the entire piece within your email without visiting my website. I understand the risks. The website is where my books are promoted, and I still have plenty of copies for sale, especially of my latest, “Palindrome: Grateful Reflections From the Home Ground.”
Recently, I’ve been posting short pieces under the heading “Facing Down the Apocalypse.” I’ll follow this introductory post with a piece from the series. I’m now 29 posts deep into the Facing Down series. Whether I catch my blog up with all 29 pieces remains to be seen. For now I plan to send new posts to you via Substack, copy them to the blog, and put them on Facebook for folks who like that sort of thing. I’ll also be putting a Substack subscriber link up on Facebook. Feel free to share this newsletter with anyone who might like to subscribe.
Happy reading. Thank you for subscribing to Words on the Nature of Life!
Warm thoughts on a wet February night,
Tom
