Devastatingly well written dear one. A love soaked homage: worthy. In honor of Martha, I vow to continue reminding you never to deny your inner poet. ❤️
Thank you, poet friend. ❤️ Don and I close out the Salem Poetry Festival on March 1, so I might start seeking your counsel soon! Looking forward to a real time visit.
Thanks for sharing your grief and your facing mortality. At our age the two seem to go together well. And too often. I'm glad you're still around to share your unique and so wonderfully written perspective on life. And death.
Tom--such an evocative, lyrical, loving tribute to Martha and to the world--maybe one of the more beautiful posts of yours I've read--and there are many. Thank you for the love you put out to this world on Valentines Day, and I am so very sorry for your loss. Where can I read Martha's poetry?
You're welcome, Marina. Thank you, all ways, for your attentive eyes. Martha published only a little of her work, and most of it was typed and/or handwritten. BUT ... stay tuned. Many of her poems have been transcribed into digital form by Kim, and Martha's dear friend Angel is committed to getting these into book form.
I look forward to the gift of her poetry thanks to the gifts of Kim and Angel--just finished reading The Serviceberry and the word "gift" keeps tumbling out. I think even the flock of lesser goldfinches are echoing the word out the window in the tree by our feeder and water in our snowy yard. Thank you for all your gifts my friend.
Thank you, Mariah. So many February birthdays squeezed into that short month! I guess nine months earlier, spring and bunnies were in the air. There are so many February birthdays in my running circle that we used to stage a February "birthday mile" every year!

Coooool! I didn't know Salem had a poetry festival 🤓
This is a beautiful remembrance and way of being present. I am grateful to read your writing.
Thank you, Carter, for your own presence in the world. And do stay tuned as plans for a local celebration for Martha and Jerry unfold.
Thank you, Tom. Sending my warmest wishes to you.

Rick, thank you for your eloquent remarks. I'm glad you're still around, too!
So beautiful Tom. Thank you.
Thank you, Linda. Love and Peace to you.

A beautiful tribute Tom. ❤️
And another February birthday! I am becoming aware of more and more February birthdays in my circle of humans.
(Not me though, October for me 🎃)
Enjoy your month.

I love that! A February birthday mile!
Too beautiful
Thank you, Cynthia. And onward we go.
Just so beautiful. Thank you, Tom.
Thank you Karen. You knew her, knew that place. And all of us are left to honor Martha by forging ahead in our various ways.
